Better late than never!

World Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Day was officially on April 7th, and while we might be fashionably late to the online celebration, our appreciation for CBT runs deep every day.

Here at the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology (MSCP), we want to give a massive shout-out to this powerful, evidence-based approach! 🎉

What is CBT? It’s a type of therapy that helps us understand the crucial link between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It empowers individuals by teaching practical skills to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and develop healthier coping strategies.

It was held at the National Institute of Health (NIH). This forum fostered valuable discussions on the development of the mental health and clinical psychology scene in both countries. A huge thank you to the NIH organisers for their efforts in making this event a success. MSCP is excited about the prospects of future collaborations with the Royal Commonwealth Society.

#throwback to last Monday - Our president, Dr. Joel Low was invited as a panelist by the Institute for Youth Research Malaysia (IYRES) and United Nations Children's Fund, for their recent launch of the Malaysian Youth Mental Health Index 2023. The event was supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. All panelists were addressing the critical domains and indicators in the Youth Mental health Index in order to better support the mental well-being among Malaysian Youth.

For mental health professionals who are interested in getting training in CBT, hop on over to @asian_cbt_association / acbta.org. MSCP members are able to enjoy discounted rates for ACBTA affiliated events!
